Works acquired include The Crossing by Los-Angeles based animator and artist Lyndon Barrois, who creates miniature sculptural installations using gum wrappers, glue, paint, and other materials.
Known for his iconic “sportraits” of moments within sports history, in The Crossing, Barrois portrays the rebellious acts of resistance that occurred during the Middle Passage, where enslaved Africans escaped the horrific conditions encountered on the slave ships of the Transatlantic Slave trade.
