Jarred Howard, CEO
A visionary leader and fifth-generation Fort Worth native, serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Juneteenth Museum.
With more than 20 years of experience in marketing, economic development, and corporate affairs, Howard's expertise is instrumental in advancing the museum's mission to honor the legacy of Juneteenth and support the economic revitalization of Fort Worth’s Historic Southside neighborhood.
Having worked quietly behind the scenes for nearly a decade, Howard has been pivotal in igniting the vision to create a National Juneteenth Museum that will not only serve as a cultural beacon but also as an economic catalyst for the community. Under his leadership, the museum has raised more than half of the $70 million capital goal, paving the way for the construction of a 50,000-square-foot facility. In addition to the museum, the campus will house a business incubator, performance theater, food hall, and leasable event space - all of which are designed to foster tourism, commerce, and community.
Previously, Howard served as the Senior Vice President of Small Business and Entrepreneur Support at the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, where he played a crucial role in empowering small businesses. His dedication to his hometown is driven by a personal connection to the Historic Southside, a neighborhood historically known as the “Black Wall Street of the South.” Howard’s commitment to revitalizing this area reflects his belief in its potential to become a vibrant hub of economic and cultural activity once again.
Jarred Howard’s leadership not only aims to preserve the history of Juneteenth but also to ensure a thriving future for Fort Worth’s communities, making a lasting impact on the city he proudly calls home.
