Additional works acquired include three mixed media works by Houston artist Robert Hodge and his “super nova” series, which depicts heroic individuals who made an impact in history. Of the series, the National Juneteenth Museum acquired: Lady Moses; My Bondage, Your Freedom; and Will They Reminisce Over You. This work highlights important figures like Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass and the U.S. Colored Troops, who each played a transformative role within the anti-slavery movement.
